GTA 6 confirmed for release in Fall 2025
Take-Two has once again announced that the highly anticipated GTA 6 will officially be released in Fall 2025. Although this announcement has been repeated, it brings reassurance to players who have been eagerly awaiting this game for a long time. The announcement came as part of Take-Two's second-quarter earnings report, confirming that the release date remains on track without any changes to the original plan.
So far, the first trailer for the game was released in December 2023, and it gained over 100 million views within just two days, breaking the record for the first trailer of GTA 5. This makes it one of the most-watched trailers in YouTube history. These numbers clearly show the excitement gamers have for the new installment of this iconic game series.
In May, the company attempted to dispel doubts and rumors about a possible delay, especially after a wave of labor strikes across game development studios. However, Take-Two confirmed that everything is proceeding according to plan and that the game’s release date remains set for Fall 2025.
In an interview with CNBC, Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick talked about the difficulty of setting a final release date for a major game like GTA. He mentioned that, on one hand, the game needs to be as bug-free as possible while also delivering an enjoyable experience for players, and on the other hand, timing is crucial from a creative standpoint to ensure the game is fully ready for its audience. That’s why Rockstar is constantly working to balance game quality with the release timeline.
Zelnick also clarified that they are working to minimize bugs as much as possible before the release to deliver an exceptional experience, as fans expect from a big title like GTA 6. Historically, Rockstar has delayed some of its releases, but Zelnick made it clear that delays are part of the gaming industry, and they are very confident that the game will launch as planned.
Currently, the game will only be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, meaning it will take full advantage of the latest consoles’ capabilities to deliver an experience as close to reality as possible.
