According to Reuters news agency sources, the company is currently in negotiations to complete its acquisition by the Chinese company "Tencent"!

But most likely the "Guillemot" family, which owns the company, will continue to manage it in the event that "Tencent" acquires the largest share of the shares.



Reuters said Tencent's hesitation was partly because it had asked for a greater say in future board decisions including the distribution of cash flows to fund the deal.

The Guillemot family apparently hasn't agreed to these terms yet, but Tencent is willing to wait until they do.



Tencent declined to comment when contacted by Reuters, and a representative for the Guillemot family did not respond.

But a Ubisoft spokesperson commented: “We are committed to making decisions in the best interests of all our stakeholders. In this context, and as we have already indicated, the company is also reviewing all its strategic options.”
