developmen of The Legend of Jin Yong
Black Myth: Wukong achieved significant success for Chinese developers, highlighting China's potential as a leading force in the gaming industry. The game, which garnered attention with its distinctive design and story inspired by Chinese mythology, became a clear indicator of China's emergence as a strong competitor in this field. Building on this success, China continues to develop more promising titles.
Among the most anticipated upcoming games are Phantom Blade Zero and a World War II-themed shooter. However, the biggest surprise came with the official announcement of The Legend of Jin Yong, a new, massive-budget AAA game being developed using Unreal Engine 5.
The new game celebrates the centenary of the birth of renowned Chinese author Jin Yong. TuSimple has secured the "Jin Yong Heroes" license from publisher Minghe to deliver an experience inspired by the author's novels. The game will feature an open world centered around martial arts, reimagining classic characters from Jin Yong's famous works. The game also plans to incorporate stunning scenes and events taken directly from these novels, adding an authentic touch to the experience.
Although the project has been in planning for a long time, the developers are looking forward to revealing more details soon. The game is expected to be released on PC and gaming consoles. However, rumors suggest that Sony may have secured an exclusivity deal for the game's release, meaning it may not be available on Xbox Series S|X, similar to what happened with Black Myth: Wukong.
