Control 2 Enters Full Production – The Remedy Universe Expands!
After a long wait, Remedy has officially confirmed that Control 2 has entered full production, making it the third major project currently in development at the studio. The game joins FBC: Firebreak, the co-op game set in the Control universe previously known as Project Condor, and the Max Payne 1&2 remake, which entered full production last August.
What’s New in Control 2?
The game will utilize Remedy’s proprietary Northlight engine, with the goal of pushing action and storytelling to the next level. However, the studio’s latest report doesn’t reveal any new gameplay or story details, leaving fans excited but eagerly waiting for more information.
Control 2’s Connection to Alan Wake 2
If you played the Alan Wake 2 - The Lake House expansion last year, you may have noticed major hints about Control 2. The Lake House was a fun addition for Remedy fans, but those not invested in the Remedy Connected Universe might not find it essential. Regardless, the expansion confirmed that Control 2 will continue building on the interconnected world the studio has been crafting.
When Can We Expect More Details?
Since the game has just entered full production, we’re not expecting to see it anytime soon. However, it’s likely that we’ll get our first official look in 2025, possibly through a teaser at major gaming events like The Game Awards or Summer Game Fest—especially since Remedy loves surprise reveals.
Will It Surpass the First Game?
The first Control was one of 2019’s biggest hits, offering a mysterious and action-packed experience with a unique style. The sequel has the potential to be bigger and better, but we’ll have to wait and see if it can capture the same magic that made the original stand out.
